What to tell us
- Your suburb — Kellyville, North Kellyville, Bella Vista, Rouse Hill, Beaumont Hills, Glenwood, Kellyville Ridge, Stanhope Gardens or anywhere across the Hills.
- What the room is — main bathroom, ensuite, powder room, laundry, or more than one.
- Roughly how big. "About 2.2 by 2.4" is enough to place it in a band.
- Single or double storey, and whether the room is upstairs. This is the slab question and it changes what is possible with the layout.
- Roughly when the house was built. A 1994 bathroom and a 2016 one need very different advice.
- Is the spa bath still being used? Honest answer, please. In most Hills houses it is not, and removing it is the single biggest floor-space gain available.
- Photos. A picture of the existing room is worth several paragraphs.
Why we insist on measuring
Phone estimates for bathrooms are close to worthless. The two things that move the price most — the room's real dimensions and whether the waste positions can stay put — cannot be assessed down a phone line.
Anyone giving you a firm number without visiting is either guessing or planning to vary it later. The measure takes about half an hour and costs nothing.
Occasionally the useful outcome is advice not to spend. If your bathroom is ten years old and sound, we will tell you that a partial upgrade beats a strip-out, even though it is less work for us.
What happens next
- A measure, at a time that suits — including evenings and weekends.
- A written, itemised quote naming the fittings, stating the tile allowance and listing the inclusions.
- Selections locked before a start date is booked, because unlocked selections are the main cause of delays.
- A program in working days with the waterproofing cure time in it rather than hidden.
